India’s electric scooter space is heating up with new launches pushing the boundaries of range and performance. The latest entry, Simple Ultra from Simple Energy, goes head to head with the newly introduced S1 X+ 5.2 kWh from Ola Electric. Here’s a closer look at how these two long-range electric scooters stack up in terms of price, range and performance.
Simple Ultra vs Ola S1 X+ e-Scooters: Pricing
The Simple Ultra has been launched at a price of Rs 2.35 lakh, ex-showroom. The scooter is already available for purchase, with test rides and deliveries underway in several cities. Simple Ultra vs Ola S1 X+ E-Scooter: Range and Performance
Range is where both scooters make a strong case, but the Simple Ultra clearly leads on paper. It is equipped with a 6.5 kWh battery pack and claims an IDC range of 400 km, which is currently one of the longest range electric scooters in India. The Ola S1 X+ 5.2 kWh, on the other hand, offers a claimed IDC range of 320 km, which is still impressive and the highest in its segment.Performance is another area where these scooters take a slightly different approach. The simple Ultra can hit a top speed of 115 kmph and accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.77 seconds. Meanwhile, the Ola S1 X+ is powered by an 11 kW mid-drive motor and accelerates the top speed to 125 kmph.
Simple Ultra vs Ola S1 X+ E-Scooter: Features
On the features front, the Simple Ultra offers four levels of traction control, a relatively rare feature in this segment, with a seven-inch digital display handling ride data and functions. The Ola S1 X+ counter comes with a 4.3-inch LCD display and break-by-wire technology. A key differentiator for Ola is its use of the indigenously developed 4680 Bharat cell.
