Barcelona clinched their 29th La Liga title in style by defeating rivals Real Madrid 2-0 in a massive Clasico on Sunday. The win confirmed back-to-back league titles for Hansi Flick’s side and left Madrid without a major trophy this season.Barca needed only to avoid defeat but attacked from the start at the Camp Nou. Marcus Rashford, who replaced injured youngster Lamin Yamel, opened the scoring with a superb free-kick.

Ferran Torres quickly added a second after a great assist from Dani Olmo, sending the home crowd into celebration mode.Real Madrid tried to respond but struggled to create enough clear-cut chances. Jude Bellingham had a goal disallowed for offside, while Vinicius Jr. was denied by Barcelona goalkeeper John Garcia. Madrid also came into the game beset by problems after Fed Valverde and Orleans Chowmani were reported to have clashed on the training ground.Barcelona’s title win felt even more emotional as coach Hansi Flick was managing the game despite the recent death of his father. His side comfortably controlled the match and nearly scored more goals through Rashford, Rafinha and Robert Lewandowski. After the final whistle, midfielder Frankie de Jong said the title felt extra special because it came at home against Madrid.“This title is more special to win at home against Madrid, now we have to enjoy it with the fans,” he said.De Jong also praised Barcelona’s performance this season while admitting the team still have big goals ahead of them.“We’ve been the best team in Spain — of course we (also) want to win the Champions League, that’s the goal. We’ll have another chance next year,” added the Dutchman.Meanwhile, Madrid now face major questions over the future, with changes expected in the summer after another disappointing campaign.
