Emma Chamberlain’s dress at this year’s Met Gala was nothing short of a beautiful masterpiece. Fitting well with the night’s ‘Costume Art’ and ‘Fashion is Art’ theme, Chamberlain dazzled in a colorful floor-length gown. Avoiding pre-gala parties and going to all of them this year, Chamberlain wanted to take Met Gala 2026 seriously.

Chamberlain took her Met Gala look to another level this time. At the 2026 event, the podcaster and online personality donned a custom plunging neckline gown designed by Miguel Castro Freitas. The dress, according to Vogue, was a collaborative effort between Freitas, artist and designer Anna Deller-Yee, and her stylist, Jared Ellner.Yee hand-painted the entire dress in the colorful ensemble that’s going viral online. In addition to this, the entire dress was made from fine art materials, and no fashion-based paints were used to create the dress. What makes it even more special is that the dress took about 40 hours to make and transform into what Chamberlain wore at the event. Also, since the dress was hand painted, it took another 4 days to dry properly.

Speaking to Vogue, Chamberlain opened up about her thoughts on this year’s Met Gala and how she’s taking it more seriously than ever. “I’m really taking it seriously in a way that I haven’t in the past,” he commented, adding that this year’s theme was right up his alley. Stating that she truly believes in ‘fashion is art’, she also added more details about the inspiration for her dress.She added: “My father is an oil and watercolor painter, and I grew up in a very creative household with art in my home. I’m someone who really enjoys fashion the most when I’m just a blank canvas.”Emma has attended every Met Gala since her debut in 2021.
