Canadian actor William Shatner celebrated his 95th birthday with a playful confession that he was still enjoying a cigar and shared two pieces of life advice: “Don’t waste a good cigar. Don’t trust anyone who says ‘you should act your age.’

William Shatner is celebrating a new milestone. The Canadian actor turned 95 on March 22. The ‘Star Trek’ star made a playful confession on her birthday, and also shared two key pieces of advice for her followers.

Taking to her Instagram on Sunday, March 22, Shanter shared a collage of two photos, one of the actress smiling for the camera and the other enjoying a cigar. He captioned the collage: “At 95, I’m still smoking!”Shatner also shared some important tips he’s learned throughout his life. “I’ve learned two things: Never miss a good cigar. Never trust anyone who tells you to ‘act your age,'” he wrote.

William Shanter feels grateful for his family

Shatner, who shares three grown daughters with his first wife, Gloria Rand, said in November 2025 that he felt “blessed beyond measure (with health), family and a beautiful encounter.”In a previous interview, Shatner explained how he would celebrate his birthday. While talking to the crowd, she revealed that she would celebrate her special day in Las Vegas, “It will be a family experience in that wonderful and entertaining city. I’m really looking forward to it.”
