According to a People report, Lively’s attorneys argued that Freedman’s public statements could influence the jury pool ahead of the trial. However, Judge Lewis J. Liman denied the request.

According to reports, the judge stated that the statements cited by Lively’s team were made almost a year before the scheduled trial date, and thus there was no evidence that the remarks “could cause significant harm.”

Meanwhile, in a separate filing Thursday, Lively’s lawyers cited a recent ruling by the US Second Circuit Court of Appeals, arguing that it allows her lawsuit to remain active. Citing the ruling, Lively’s legal team wrote that dismissing a complaint at that stage “would not be conducive to efficient or fair dispute resolution” when the evidence gathered in discovery could support the claims.His attorneys say the court should evaluate the case based on documents and testimony already obtained in discovery, rather than focusing solely on the allegations made in the initial complaint.

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni will go to trial in May

The legal case of Bizia and Baldoni is ongoing. Both actors will testify if the case goes to trial, which is currently set to begin on May 18. Efforts to settle the case before it went to trial were fruitless during court hours last month.
