UPTET Application 2026: Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 notification has been officially released on 20 March 2026. The Commission has also introduced One Time Registration (OTR) scheme this time. The registration process will start tomorrow i.e. 27th March 2026 and will continue till 26th April 2026. Candidates interested in writing the exam can apply through the official website upessc.up.gov.in. The exam is scheduled to be held on 2nd, 3rd and 4th July 2026.It is also stated that candidates will not be able to apply for the UPTET exam without going through the OTR process. In OTR process, candidates have to fill their details and then generate OTR ID.
UPTET 2026 : Eligibility criteria
UPTET is a mandatory qualification for candidates seeking teaching posts in government and aided schools in Uttar Pradesh, and the criteria are slightly different for each level of the exam. For Primary Level, which includes Classes 1 to 5, candidates must have passed Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and must have a Diploma in Elementary Education of at least two years duration or its equivalent qualification. For upper primary level, which includes classes 6 to 8, candidates should have a graduation degree with at least 50% marks, and should have a diploma in elementary education of at least two years duration or a B.Ed degree.

- Fill the UPTET application form.: Login using OTR ID and enter your educational qualification, examination level (Primary/Upper Primary) and other required details.
- Pay the application fee.: Proceed to pay the application fee through available online payment methods.
