The controversy escalated after major sponsors, including Pepsi and Diageo, withdrew their support for the event.Amid the growing backlash, West attempted damage control by offering to meet with members of the UK Jewish community. In a Wall Street Journal ad titled “To Those I’ve Hurt,” he said his goal was to “present a show of change, bringing unity, peace and love through my music.”“I would appreciate the opportunity to meet in person with members of the Jewish community in the UK,” he added, admitting that “words are not enough.”
