Tom Cruise has made stunt work a defining part of his on-screen image, but that commitment has also left him with a long record of painful injuries. Tom Cruise stunt injuries in big action movies

Cruise’s interview with Empire revealed that he shot part of the opening climb in Mission: Impossible 2 while wearing a helmet on a broken foot. Cruise said, “What people don’t know is that there’s a part where I’m jumping up and down, but I broke my foot. And I never mentioned it to anybody.” He added: “Some of these injuries, what’s the point? You keep going. So I’m jumping, and my foot wasn’t right.”Entertainment Weekly also recalled Cruise’s explanation that director John Woo thought they had already shot it, but Cruise wanted another take. “No, we want it in one shot, I have to keep doing it,” he said. Also referring to the reaction to Woo’s promotion at the box office, the director said, “I was really angry that he wanted to do it, but I tried to stop him and I couldn’t,” adding, “I was sweating and scared. I couldn’t even see the monitor when we shot it.

Tom Cruise’s injuries more than “Mission: Impossible”.

People added another early example in the first ‘Mission: Impossible’. In a rundown of the franchise’s biggest perks, the magazine said the exploding aquarium sequence was so dangerous that co-producer Paula Wagner said Cruise hurt his foot while filming it. That injury occurred early in the series and helped set the tone for the physical approach that followed.Variety reported one of Cruise’s most devastating setbacks in 2017, when he broke his ankle during a stunt in “Mission: Impossible – Fallout.” The trade said that Paramount had confirmed the broken ankle and that production had suffered a delay after the crash in London. Another report from Variety said that Cruise broke his right ankle, while a later summary from MovieWeb said that his ankle was broken in two places during the roof jump.NBC Washington reports that Cruise called a foot injury in “Jack Reacher” his “worst injury.” The outlet reported that he wasn’t hurt in a major crash, but despite being kicked repeatedly during the fight scene, it’s a reminder that ground action work can also cause serious damage through repetition. LADbible, meanwhile, caught a behind-the-scenes look at “Oblivion” that showed Cruise landing a motorcycle ramp, hitting it hard and avoiding a more serious injury when the bike nearly caught his legs. Cruise’s heavy career has provided memorable acts, but has also left him hurt time and time again.
