Cruise said, “What people don’t know is that there’s a part where I’m jumping up and down, but I broke my foot. And I never mentioned it to anybody.” He added: “Some of these injuries, what’s the point? You keep going. So I’m jumping, and my foot wasn’t right.”Entertainment Weekly also recalled Cruise’s explanation that director John Woo thought they had already shot it, but Cruise wanted another take. “No, we want it in one shot, I have to keep doing it,” he said. Also referring to the reaction to Woo’s promotion at the box office, the director said, “I was really angry that he wanted to do it, but I tried to stop him and I couldn’t,” adding, “I was sweating and scared. I couldn’t even see the monitor when we shot it.“
