In Gorakhpur, Ram Tal has seen national level events held even before it was developed as a water sports hub. Facilities in cities like Ayodhya are also being upgraded, even if they do not meet international seating standards.Buoyed by growing infrastructure and capacity to host events, the state government is now aiming higher. Both Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Ministers Rajnath Singh has expressed its intention to bid for national sports in the future – a move that will further cement Uttar Pradesh as a major sports hub.With a combination of world-class stadiums, grassroots facilities and regular sports programmes, Uttar Pradesh is building a strong ecosystem that aims to make sports an integral part of everyday life.
