While speaking with PEOPLE, the actress delved into her life, mentioning that life was tough, coming from a family of Iranian refugees. He recounted that his parents fled Iran after the Islamic Revolution in the early 1980s.“It’s rarely an option for any refugee family. The situation was so dire that they had to leave. We were very lucky to have a community when we came here, but it’s a loss of identity in so many ways,” she added. In 2013, after finishing her studies in the US, she landed a small role in the movie ‘Blue Bloods’, and that’s when she entered the world of acting. She added: “I couldn’t believe I was living this life. And then I booked The Deuce.“
How Sepideh Moafi found out about the role of ‘The Pitt’
The actor also touched on how he found out he got the role. She revealed in the interview that she had been on a week-long wellness retreat where they were not allowed to have any digital items. At the time, he felt he had lost his chance. However, the night before the flight, he got the call and found out that he got a role in ‘The Pitt’. “I was happy, and I packed even more because I was going to be in California not for a week, but for eight months.” He ended up going into retirement for 8 days, and two days after that, he was on the sets of ‘The Pitt’, becoming Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi.
