A huge controversy has erupted after the scenes of ‘Jana Nayagan’ Vijaywere leaked online. The film directed by H. Vinoth is one of the most anticipated projects in Tamil cinema. A few minutes of footage, including the title credits and Vijay’s introduction scene from the unreleased film, surfaced on social media. Soon after, the full HD version of the film was leaked. This development has shocked the film’s team and fans as the film has been made with a huge investment and has huge theatrical, satellite and OTT value. Director H Vinoth ‘Jana Nayagan’ has shared his concern about the leak, and several film fraternities have also expressed their stand against piracy.
The makers of ‘Jana Nayagan’ issue a warning against piracy
After the leak, the production house released a strong legal statement through counsel Vijay Subramanian. The ad claimed that some people had trespassed and circulated scenes from the film. The statement read, “It has come to my client’s notice with shock and dismay that certain scenes from the film ‘Jana Nayagan’ have been illegally accessed, downloaded, copied and disseminated by certain persons.” The notice also warned that sharing or forwarding the leaked clips via WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, websites or torrents would constitute a serious offense and copyright infringement.

The strictness legal action is issued against those who share the leaked clips
The production house also made it clear that strict legal action would be taken against anyone involved in releasing the footage. The ad said: “Downloading, reposting, sharing, uploading, forwarding, storing or circulating such outraged scenes is a serious offence, and each person involved will be individually liable for criminal action.” He also confirmed that the producers have started legal proceedings against whoever allegedly downloaded and transmitted the scenes. At the same time, the public has been asked not to view or share any leaked content related to the film.
Censorship delay adds to the challenges of ‘Jana Nayagan’
Apart from the piracy issue, ‘Jana Nayagan’ is also facing delays due to censorship issues. The film was scheduled to release on January 9, but was sent back for reconsideration by the Central Board of Film Certification following objections over some scenes and dialogues. Even after making the suggested changes, the film is reportedly still being considered by the review board. The H Vinoth directorial has a strong cast of Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju and Narain, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
