‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has broken a record in its theatrical run. Film, protagonist Tom Holland in the lead, setting a new benchmark by being the first movie trailer to surpass the 1 billion views mark worldwide.

The trailer released by Sony on March 17 has garnered around 1.1 billion views so far. This comes after the film broke the record for the biggest trailer opening in 24 hours, according to data from WaveMetrix.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ beats ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ trailer record
According to reports, the film broke the previous record of ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ trailer, which got 475 million views. However, ‘Brand New Day’ comfortably surpassed that mark in half a day, garnering a total of 718.6 million views by the end of Day 1.

It also surpassed the previous record held by the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ trailer, which reached 365 million views in 24 hours after its Super Bowl debut. Spidey was able to pass this milestone just eight hours after its online release. This also holds the record for one of the most watched trailers of all time, following the success of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. It had a record 355.5 million views in the first 24 hours. The film grossed around $1.9 billion worldwide, making it one of the top Hollywood films of all time.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ will bring back Tom Holland as Peter Parker. Including a film that also features a star-studded cast ZendayaSadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo will open in theaters on July 31.
