The official trailer for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is finally out, and it promises a darker and more intense chapter in the web-slinger’s journey. On Wednesday, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures released an additional two-minute look at Spider-Man: No Way Home. Tom Holland reprises his role Peter Parkerbut this time, he is completely on his own.The trailer begins with Peter struggling with the consequences of his decision to erase his identity from the world. As a result, his girlfriend MJ, played by Zendaya, and his best friend Ned, played by Jacob Batalon, no longer know each other when they start college life. Adding to his emotional burden is the loss of Aunt May, portrayed Marisa Tomei.Things take a more disturbing turn when Peter begins to notice that his powers are waning. In search of answers, he turns to Dr. Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo, who warns him: “If the DNA is mutating, it’s going to be incredibly dangerous.” Despite the dangers, Spider-Man steps up once again, determined to protect the city.The highlight of the trailer is the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of The Punisher, portrayed by Jon Bernthal, who previously played the character on Netflix’s Punisher and Daredevil series. The film also sees the return of Scorpion, played Michael Mando.Fans were quick to react to the trailer, with many praising its darker tone and ambitious scale. One user wrote: “This is a totally different tone, I’m expecting a new raw version of spiderman.” Another commented: “Organic Webbing, Punisher, Hulk, Scorpion….. Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31st.
