The events of the episodes leading up to the finale are full of action and gore. The series begins with an eventful road trip of a couple Rachel Harkin (Camila Morrone) and Nicky Cunningham (Adam DiMarco) to meet their parents for the first time. Although the ride to the lonely house is uneventful enough, when he gets there, he feels as if something is very wrong. Z. Boston explains what happened at the end while talking to TIME.One thing leads to another, and viewers see Harkin come to believe that the house he’s in isn’t right, and that his boyfriend’s family will kill him and sacrifice him. Describing Harkin’s personality and actions, she wrote: “For the first half of the show, Rachel thinks the threat is from outside. Then, halfway through, she realizes it’s from within. She thinks this family is out to get her, that there’s some evil in the woods. Then she realizes it’s really her. She blames other people, but ultimately realizes you have to dig deep within yourself to face your fears.“It even goes deeper into the show and explains all the important details.
Rachel Harkin will find out the truth
The show moves on, and Harkin learns that the Cunningham family isn’t the problem, but it is. On their way home talking to an old man at the bar, he stopped and started talking to him. He reveals that his family has been cursed because of his ancestry. The Harkins will die a gruesome death on their wedding night if they don’t marry their soul mate.Then, the old man explains that he once fell in love; however, on the wedding night, it never passed, and the curse that was once on another family was passed on to her. Death himself cursed him to remain immortal and witness all the marriages that take place in the Harkin bloodline.

The finale shows that the day has finally arrived, and both Rachel and Nicky are together at the altar, about to get married. However, at the last minute, Nicky, who was adamant that he did not believe in the curse, refuses to marry Rachel. However, his mistake costs many lives as the curse is passed on to the bloodline of the Cunningham family. The final roles and most of the Cunninghams who attended the wedding, but were not soul mates, start confused and bleeding, meeting their gruesome deaths. Nicky tries to force Rachel to marry him in a fight to save her family, but it doesn’t work. Rachel starts bleeding and then dies like everyone else. In the morning, however, he wakes up in a pool of blood, realizing that he has become the next witness. Speaking of this, Boston mentioned, “If Nicky had said yes at the altar, if he had been the same and if he hadn’t grown up at all, everything would be fine. That’s the great tragedy of the finale.” After all, the show is saying that the biggest sin is not believing that your person is the right person for you.’He concludes that the whole season is a story of rupture, and that the ending has a symbolic role. He mentions that Rachel’s death represents the breakup of the couple, that waking up in the morning acts as a symbolic gesture to move on and be new, while the scars of your past still remain.
