In an interview with Nylon, the 20-year-old pop star offered her insight into the dating world. “I’m still a man who feels emotions. I’m still very single. And I’m still dealing with some issues related to love,” he said.

As for her latest hit ‘Homewrecker’, the singer revealed the story behind the song involves reconnecting with a long-gone ex, knowing full well he could be a better match than her new man. “I was like, ‘Brother, I can be so much better than this idiot,'” he said, adding that the subject is “angry” about the song. “He’s mad,” Sombr added. “Hopefully he won’t come to kill me.”

Sombr added that with her newfound fame, she “has to accept that I have no privacy, and that’s not something I’ll ever complain about, because that’s what I wanted.” The singer says she always has to act like she’s watching, and that’s because it’s really happening.

Speaking to People, Sombre revealed that he dropped out of high school at age 17 to pursue music full-time. The decision paid off! It’s been a transformative year for Sombr, real name Shane Boose, who released his debut studio album ‘I Barely Know Her’ in August and was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammy Awards in February.
