A defender filed a complaint against the song and everyone associated with it. Soon, the National Human Rights Commission also issued a notice regarding the depiction of lewdness in the song. And now, the Haryana State Women’s Commission has written to the Central Board of Film Certification to raise concerns about it.

According to the ANI report, the Commission expressed “serious concern” in an official communication over what it described as the increasing presence of obscenity and vulgarity in songs approved for public release. According to the letter to the CBFC, the visuals and lyrics of the song are against the standards and guidelines laid down by the Cinematography Act, 1952.The letter read, “A recently released song ‘Sarke Chunar teri Sarke’ by popular dancer/actress Nora Fatehi has content which appears to be in contravention of the standards and guidelines prescribed by The Cinematograph Act, 1952.”The letter further stated: “Furthermore, it is seen that such content can have a negative and lasting impact on children and young people, especially impressionable and susceptible to the influence of popular media, and as a result, it is a serious concern of the society. The growing trend of suggestive visuals and lyrics in some songs raises serious doubts about complying with the spirit of the Censor Board.“In its letter to the CBFC, the Commission stated that the increasing use of suggestive images and lyrics in songs raises concerns about compliance with the spirit of certification requirements. He also emphasized the importance of the media in shaping society’s values and demanded that the regulatory bodies be more cautious and responsible when accepting information for the public media. The commission has asked the CBFC to provide a detailed response and consider stricter scrutiny of similar content in the future.

On the other hand, the Karnataka State Commission for Women has also taken note of the complaints regarding the lyrics ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ which appears in the movie ‘KD: The Devil’. In a letter to the regional director of the CBFC, the commission expressed concern that the lyrics could be derogatory and portray women in a disrespectful manner.The Karnataka bench said the issue is due to public complaints regarding lyrics used in films being produced or promoted. The commission has stated that content perceived to belittle the dignity of women may violate film certification guidelines.The letter further stated that the dissemination of provocative words in public may affect the safety and social welfare of women. He emphasized that scenes or lyrics depicting women in an obscene or degrading manner fall within the scope of examination under the certification rules. The commission asked the CBFC to conduct a thorough review of the song and ensure that any objectionable lyrics or scenes are removed or changed before giving the assurance.In addition, the Karnataka panel has written to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, asking for greater oversight in the film industry regarding the use of obscene literature or what describes dialogue in films. The letter highlighted the growing public objections to certain song lyrics in Kannada cinema, including those related to “KD: The Devil”, and urged filmmakers to be more socially responsible.
