The release date of the live-action hybrid movie ‘Animal Friends’ starring Ryan Reynolds and Jason Momoa has been changed again. The road trip adventure feature will hit theaters on January 22, 2027, after previously being scheduled for May 1, 2026. Before that, the film was slated to release on October 10, 2025.The film jumped from Sony to Warner Bros. after Legendary terminated its deal on the Culver City lot.

In addition to Ryan Reynolds and Jason Momoa, the film directed by Peter Atencio stars Aubrey Plaza, Addison Rae, Dan Levy, Lil Rel Howery and Ellie Bamber. According to Deadline, the reason for this latest date change is the film’s cast, but details about it have been kept under wraps.

Reynolds will release the action comedy ‘Mayday’ in September, while Jason Momoa will star in the film adaptation of ‘Helldivers’, based on a video game franchise. His other projects are January’s ‘The Wrecking Crew’, and he has ‘Street Fighter’ and ‘Dune: Part Three’ lined up for 2026.On the other hand, ‘The Croods’, starring Ryan Reynolds, will be added to Hulu’s film and TV catalog on April 1, along with the Spanish dubbing. It originally premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival on February 15, 2013, and was released in theaters a month later on March 22, 2013. In addition to Reynolds, it features the voices of Nicolas Cage and Emma Stone.
