There have always been rumors of Ryan Gosling playing Ghost Rider. Now, Gosling has led the latest round of speculation himself. Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, host Josh Horowitz asked Gosling if he had met with MCU boss Kevin Feige about the role. “There have been some discussions,” Ryan Gosling replied. “It’s a complicated situation.”

According to a report from Collider, Gosling openly stated that Ghost Rider was the superhero he most wanted to play in 2022, and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige responded enthusiastically. “Ryan is amazing,” Feig said at the time. “I would love to find a place in the MCU.”Meanwhile, the Oscar-nominated actor is promoting his latest film ‘Project Hail Mary’ and is also set to star in the upcoming ‘Star Wars: Starfight’.

In the 2007 film Ghost Rider, Nicolas Cage played Blaze, a motorcycle impersonator who must sell his soul and hunt down demons who have escaped Hell. Cage returned in the 2011 sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Another incarnation of the character later entered the MCU as Gabriel Luna as Robbie Reyes in Agents of SHIELD, and headlined a Ghost Rider series on Hulu before the project was eventually shelved.
