Royal Enfield has introduced a new version of its road-focused motorcycle, the Royal Enfield Gorilla 450, named Apex. Along with this, the brand has also updated the dash variant, adding more equipment. Here’s everything you need to know.

Starting with the updates, the dash trim now comes standard with a headlamp grill and knuckle guards. It also gets a revised tire compound, which the company claims offers about 8 percent better grip in dry conditions and up to 17 percent better grip on wet roads.However, the spotlight is clearly on the new Gorilla 450 Apex variant. It has a new aluminum handlebar that is 56mm lower and 57mm forward. This results in a more aggressive and sportier riding posture than the standard model. The Apex also uses new Vredestein-sourced tires with minor design updates such as a shorter front flyscreen and rear cowl.The Apex variant is offered in three color options: Apex Red, Apex Black and Apex Green. Apart from these changes, the motorcycle mechanically remains the same as the standard version.

Powering the bike is the same 450cc Sherpa engine that produces 40 hp and 40 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox. The hardware setup includes 43mm telescopic front forks from Showa with 140mm of travel and a rear monoshock that offers 150mm of travel with preload adjustment. Braking duties are handled by a 310 mm front disc and a 270 mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS.As for prices, these are introductory figures and may be revised later. The Apex variant is priced at Rs 2,49,194 for the red shade, while the black and green options are priced at Rs 2,56,387. The dash variant starts at Rs 2,49,194 for Twilight Blue and goes up to Rs 2,67,116 for Shadow Ash, Smoke Silver and Pax Bronze. The top-spec Flash variant in Brava Blue is priced at Rs 2,72,479, all prices ex-showroom.With these updates, Royal Enfield is expanding the Gorilla 450 range with more performance-oriented options while also improving the practicality of the existing variants.
