Ravi Kishan has strongly backed it Aditya Dhar‘s starring franchise Dhurandhar Ranveer Singhcalling it a “wake-up call” for the film industry, rejecting critics who label it as propaganda. In a recent interview, the actor spoke about the impact of the film, its reception, and the reason for the arrival of a “new cinema”.
“It’s not just a movie… it’s a mirror of society”
Praising the film, Ravi Kishan told ABP Live, “Dhurandhar is an eye-opener for new-age cinema. It’s not just a film, it’s a truth. It has come as a mirror for society.”He added that “it shows what happened in the past, the types of conspiracies that take place in the country, as well as the people who live there.”Praising his craft, he said, “This truth is presented with strong editing, a powerful background score and lively performances, full of energy and madness.”
“This is not propaganda”
In response to the controversy surrounding the film, he said, “It’s unfortunate that people call it propaganda. This is not propaganda, it’s a film.”Appreciating the origin of the story, he added, “A young filmmaker, Kashmiri Pandit (Aditya Dhar), has beautifully portrayed his pain and patriotism.”He also praised Ranveer Singh and the team, saying, “Ranveer Singh and the entire team have put their heart and soul into it.”Deepening the criticism, he stated: “If you are weak, don’t try to bring down someone else’s success. Look at your own shortcomings and create something new.”
‘It’s a revolution’
Talking about the film’s reach, Ravi Kishan said, “This is a revolution. I have worked in Telugu cinema as well, but for the first time I have seen Hindi films in Andhra and Tamil Nadu with such a packed house.”He added, “Even in Pakistan, people are talking about Dhurandhar in interviews. They are watching it secretly; pirated versions are also trending.”According to him, “Southern industry has fully embraced the film. Filmmakers have welcomed it. History is being made.”
‘A new cinema is born’
Calling it a turning point, he said: “This is an awakening. A new cinema has been born, a new era of filmmaking has begun.”He explained, “The key is how you present truth with entertainment. Dhurandhar has struck that balance beautifully.”He also praised filmmaker Aditya Dhar, saying, “Every 20 years, a filmmaker comes along who changes cinema. I welcome him.”
