First look Ramayanaprotagonist Ranbir Kapoorhas created a social media buzz ahead of its Hanuman Jayanti release today (April 2).Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and helmed by Namit Malhotra, the film also stars Sai Pallavi, Yash and Sunny Deol in lead roles. A special screening of the show was recently held in Los Angeles, and initial reactions have been overwhelmingly positive.The teaser, which will run for 2 minutes and 38 seconds, is already being described as an “unpacked” experience, with the powerful visuals, scale and background score grabbing your attention.

Ranbir Kapoor on playing Lord Ram
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor spoke about his initial hesitation to take on the role of Lord Ram.“I remember when Namit offered me this part about four years ago, my immediate reaction was, ‘I’m not fit enough, enough.’ I felt I wouldn’t be able to do it full justice,” he said at a screening event.He added, “But that fear quickly turned to gratitude because opportunities like this were something I really needed in my life.”
The actor also talked about how fatherhood changed his perspective. “The sweet coincidence of playing Lord Ram and being a father became a turning point in my life,” he shared.Set 5,000 years ago, Ramayana is slated as a two-part live-action saga, with Part 1 releasing worldwide in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027. With early reactions already calling it “spectacular” and “monumental,” all eyes are on the unveiling of the teaser, expected to drop later today.
