Aditya DharDhurandhar: The Revenge is rewriting box office records though Ram Gopal Varma now he is calling out the film industry for what he describes as a “loud silence” surrounding his success.The Ranveer Singh-directed film has crossed a whopping Rs 1.2 billion worldwide, even surpassing RRR’s lifetime collections. Despite his formidable career, Varma questioned why more voices in the industry haven’t openly celebrated the achievement.Taking a swipe at X, he wrote, “Now that @AdityaDharFilms has EXPLODED an ATOMIC BOMB under the film industry, what is surprising is the loud silence from the rest of the film industry.”
“Are they in denial or paralyzed?”
Varma did not hold back as he speculated about the reasons behind the muted reaction. “I don’t know that because the devastating explosion of #Dhurandhar2 has thrown everyone else in the film industry into OUTER SPACE so far that their applause can’t reach here…. OR whether they’re wrapped in denial, whisper to each other, ‘It’s just propaganda…it’ll be gone soon,’” he wrote.He also added, “OR do they stop because of the sheer brilliance of the movie, that whatever they’re doing… can’t be measured?”The filmmaker also warned not to ignore the impact of the film. Calling her a ‘DINOSAUR’, she wrote: “Isn’t it very senseless to ignore a DINOSAUR like #Dhurandhar2… BREATHING FIRE into your eyes with a ROAR OF THE KEY?”
‘Investigate or risk being left behind’
Asking the industry to take note, Varma concluded, “My sincere advice… is to take the killer #Dhurandhar2 seriously and look into it… OR risk being buried forever in the pre-March 19, 2026 cinema moon.”Several big names including Rajinikanth, SS Rajamouli, Priyadarshan, Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Vijay Deverakonda, Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt have praised the film and Ranveer Singh‘s performance, Varma pointed out that the wider public celebration of the industry remains limited.Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge follows the journey of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who becomes Indian spy Hamza Ali Mazari as he navigates the dangerous nexus between politics and the underworld. The film also stars Arjun RampalR Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun in pivotal roles. With over 846 million Euros in India alone, the film continues to dominate the box office while also creating a controversy that the industry cannot ignore.
