In a new interview, the 71-year-old actor dismissed his anger, saying his actions were paternal.

Sara Arjun a kiss on the shoulder, sparking criticism online, with some calling the gesture “horrible” and inappropriate. In a new interview with Red FM, the 71-year-old actor shrugged off his anger, saying his actions were paternal. “It was a small incident. The girl who plays my daughter in Dhurandhar, Sara Arjun. While she was shooting, whenever she came, I would hug her and kiss her on the forehead, like a daughter,” she said. Previously, he pointed out that Sara’s parents were present at the event, questioning the way the moment was interpreted.Explaining his intention, Bedi added that it was the responsibility of a senior actor to make his young co-stars feel comfortable. “I’d say, ‘Let’s go, don’t worry, we’re going to make a great scene together.’ But at the trailer launch, when I greeted him the same way, people started writing all sorts of things. I said: ‘I’ve always treated him like this’”.“Thankfully, some people also defended me. But honestly, people just need a reason to talk. Kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna,” he said.

Responding to the success of Dhurandhar and its sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Bedi described it as a “pleasant surprise” but insisted that his approach has not changed.“Undoubtedly, this success is a pleasant surprise. Such success does not come often in anyone’s life, be it an actor, a writer or a director. Not many people have such success,” he said.However, the seasoned actor was quick to add that he remains grounded. “For me, it’s a coincidence to be a part of it. But in terms of changing my life, no, nothing. I haven’t lost my balance or perspective. I’ve seen success many times in my career. I consider it very normal, it’s part of the game.”

Talking about her role in the film, Bedi credited director Aditya Dhar for conceptualizing the character.“I did the role, but most of the credit goes to Aditya Dhar. He conceived and designed it. As an actor, you are given a canvas, you add your own colors to it,” he shared.
