Speaking to News18, Rajpal shared an emotional account of the timing of Asrani’s death. “I had just shot with him and even shared a meal. But during that time, there was a personal situation – my father was in the ICU. By the time the shoot was over, I got the news. I couldn’t attend his last rites,” she said.

Rajpal and Asrani were working together in Bhooth Bangla, which he directed Priyadarshan. The film also stars Akshay KumarWamiqa Gabbi and Paresh Rawal, among others. The film will be released in theaters on April 10. Recalling his time on set, Rajpal described the atmosphere as filled with warmth and laughter. “Whenever Mr. Asrani was around, the entire unit came together. He entertained everyone even during breaks. We laughed uncontrollably. He stole the show every time,” he said.

Calling him a master of entertainment, Rajpal said, “People say entertainment is a science, he was like a teacher of it. The way he acted, understood humor and connected with people was extraordinary.” Paying tribute to the veteran actor, Rajpal concluded, “Legends like him don’t disappear. They live on through their work. Mr. Asrani will always be alive in our hearts. He is a great legend. As long as Indian cinema exists, he will be immortal. Absolutely true. May his blessings always remain with us. One day, everyone will have to continue working until God gives them their souls, but until they give us peace…”
