Ektaa Kapoor is considered a trailblazer in Indian television and a pioneer in her shows. She changed her face, but in a recent interview Ekta spoke about an important moment in her early life. Rajinikanth he visited his house. She revealed that she got a break from the legendary actor. Noticing that he looked down, she asked him what was bothering him. “Once Rajinikanth came to my house for lunch. He is good friends with my father. He saw that I was upset. When he asked me what I wanted to do, I said, ‘I want to work.’‘”That meeting was a turning point. Rajinikanth tied the knot with Kalanidhi, grandson of M. Karunanidhi. “After that meeting, he gave me a prime-time South Indian show. However, they questioned how a North Indian could handle a South Indian show. We had to buy slots. We scripted the show in Hindi, sent my team to shoot with local actors, and it became the first show. Then I used its TRPs as proof and started getting opportunities on Hindi TV,” recalls Ekta.Based on this success, he later adapted the same concept of “Ghar Ek Mandir” into Hindi, which helped him to establish himself in the industry. His big breakthrough came when he presented ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ to Star Plus, a show that would redefine Indian television and cement his legacy.Although facilitated by her father Jeetendra’s friendship with Rajinikanth, Ekta dismissed notions of nepotism, saying it “doesn’t exist”.In a previous podcast by Usha Kakade Productions, she also revealed a personal reason for starting her career so early. “When I was 17, I was always going out with my friends, walking around and going to college. So my dad told me I had to focus on my studies or get a job. Otherwise, he said he was going to get me married. That scared me so much that I felt like I had to start working. It was like my dad hung a sword on me,” she said.Ekta admitted that she was not ready to get married at that stage and simply wanted to enjoy life. “I was enjoying life a lot, sometimes partying, sometimes traveling. At 18, who wanted to be tied down by marriage? I was like I didn’t want to get involved in all of this. I wanted to work, and later I continued to work and I never got married,” he added.
