Punjab Police will close the online application process for constable recruitment on 30 March 2026. Candidates who have not yet applied can submit their forms through the official recruitment portal by 11:55 PM.These recruitments are being done for the posts of Constable in District Cadre and Armed Cadre of Punjab Police. Applications are invited from Indian nationals for direct recruitment.
Vacancy details
A total of 3,298 posts have been announced. These include posts and armed cadres of both districts.
- District Cadre: 2,522 posts
- Armed Cadre: 776 posts

Candidates have to apply online only. No other mode of application will be accepted.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board. Ex-servicemen can apply with matric qualification.They must also have studied Punjabi as a subject in Matriculation or its equivalent level.Minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 28 years as on 1st January 2026. Age relaxation is given to certain category candidates as per rules.
Scale of pay
Selected candidates will get starting salary of Rs.19,900 per month as per Punjab Government rules.
Selection process
The selection process will be done in three stages.
- Computer Based Test
- Physical screening test and physical measurement test
- Document checking
The computer based test will consist of two papers. Paper I will decide the merit, while Paper II of Punjabi language will be of qualifying nature.There will be no negative marking in the examination.
Physical standards
For District and Armed Police posts, the minimum height is 170.2 cm for male candidates and 157.5 cm for female candidates.Candidates are also required to qualify physical tests like running, long jump and high jump.
