Star pacer of Pakistan Shaheen Afridi Their franchise Lahore Qalandars has been fined for violating the security protocol at the team hotel during the Pakistan Super League. Afridi was fined Rs 10 lakh by Qalandars.“In the interest of maintaining discipline and demonstrating accountability, the franchise has taken a voluntary and proactive step to impose a fine of Rs 10 lakh on Shaheen Shah Afridi for his involvement. Lahore Qalandars have also formally communicated a detailed response with their observations on the matter.”“The franchise expressed its sincere appreciation for the efforts of the security personnel, recognizing their vital role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for players, officials and spectators. Stressing that the matter arose out of a misunderstanding rather than any deliberate attempt to breach established procedures, Lahore Qalandars reiterated their full respect for all security protocols.The franchise did not mention Zimbabwean cricketer Sikandar Raza in its statement.

Lahore Qalandars captain Afridi and his overseas player Raza found themselves at the center of a major controversy after they were accused of breaching the team’s security protocol at their hotel.According to a police official, Shaheen and Sikandar were found hosting four guests in Raza’s room on the eighth floor till 1:25 am.According to the police official, the liaison officer initially sought permission from the PCB manager to allow Raza’s four relatives to enter his room. The request was rejected as per security protocol.DIG (Operations Lahore) Muhammad Faisal informed the CEO of PSL about the serious breach of security measures.Despite the denial, at around 11:05 PM, PCB and security personnel reported that Shaheen and Raza took the four guests to Raza’s room. The guests were there until 1:25 p.m.
