Priyadarshan‘Bhooth Bangla’ will be one of the last appearances of the veteran actor on screen Asraniwho passed away last October. The filmmaker had a long creative association with Asrani, with his last two films ‘Bhooth Bangla’ and ‘Haiwaan’ starring the actor. It is interesting that both projects are the protagonists Akshay Kumar.Priyadarshan explained Asrani’s legacy and said in an interview to Screen, “We (he and Akshay) are lucky to have worked with him in his (Asrani’s) last two films. I have seen him since Mere Apne; he played a different role in Sholay. In Koshish, he was a villain. He did better than I felttimes in Abhima. (Amitabh Bachchan).”He further added, “He was a complete actor, I used his comic sense in this film. I have done a lot of work Mr. Asrani; it’s a big loss. You must watch Akshay and Asrani’s combination in Bhoot Bangla; They have some of the funniest scenes together.”Akshay Kumar, who has shared screen space with Asrani in several films, also opened up about one of their recent interviews. “I’ve done a lot of movies with him. In his last days, he shared a couple of things from his life with me. He talked about the time when he faced the most stress in his life, he told me, ever producing a movie.”Recalling the advice, Akshay said, “He said, ‘Akshay, never produce a film, it was the biggest mistake of my life when I put my own money. When you produce a film with someone else’s money, it’s fine, the risk and the profit is theirs; when you think of earning more for yourself by putting your own money, it never stops.’He continued, “He produced a film and made huge losses. It was a good film, but it didn’t work. He said he lost his life savings because of it. So he told me never to produce by putting your money.”Meanwhile, Bhooth Bangla, which is set to release on April 10, is one of the most awaited films of 2026. According to 123 Telugu, the trailer is expected to release on March 30, though an official confirmation is still awaited. The teaser has already created a lot of buzz among the audience. Apart from Akshay, the film also stars Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbiand Paresh Rawal.
