Film maker Priyadarshan appeared in favor of the actors Rajpal Yadav after granting provisional bail to the latter in a check bounce case. The director, who has collaborated with Yadav in several films over the years, says that the person caught in a “trap” is an “innocent” person.Rajpal Yadav was recently granted interim bail in a 9 crore check bounce case related to a loan taken for the 2010 film Ata Pata Laapata. The actor reportedly borrowed Rs 5 crore from businessman Madhav Gopal Agrawal for the film, which later increased to Rs 9 crore due to interest and penalties. He has deposited 1.5 million and has been given temporary assistance until March 18.
“Our relationship will never change”
Talking about the actor and their long-standing friendship, Priyadarshan said that he has known Rajpal for many years and thinks he is one of the kindest people in the industry.“I have known my relationship with Rajpal for many years, and I would say he is the most innocent actor I have ever seen,” he told ANI.The filmmaker added that Yadav’s confident nature could lead to trouble.
“This boy was so innocent that he fell into a trap, and for that our relationship will never change. If it had been someone else, so many people would not have come together to help him. There were so many people who were willing to help him because they understand how innocent this boy is. You can see the innocence on his face, and the same innocence is in his heart,” said Priyadarshan. Priyadarshan and Rajpal Yadav share a long professional association spanning over two decades. The actor has been part of several popular comedies directed by Priyadarshan including Hungama, Garam Masala, Malamaal Weekly, Chup Chup Ke, Bhagam Bhaag, Dhol and Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
