Mollywood celebrities Priyadarshan and Lissy married on December 13, 1990, separated in September 2016. Now, in a surprising yet heartwarming turn of events, the ‘Kunjali Marakkar’ director has revealed that they are back together.
Rumors become reality
Speculations about their reconciliation started earlier this year. In January, the couple was spotted together at the wedding of filmmaker Sibi Malayil’s son.Rumors gained momentum on March 16 when Lissy shared a picture of herself, Priyadarshan and superstar Mammootty with the caption, “It was an absolute pleasure and honor to have the legendary Padmabhushan Sri Mammootty with us for Le Magic Lantern to record the voice of the highly anticipated film PATRIOT. Mammukka was as attractive as ever: her captivating aura and vibrant energy are timeless, just as she was in her 30s. We wish the entire team the best as they bring this vision to the screen.”
The reunion is official
As quoted by website Mid Day, “Now the reunion is official. After hearing the news that they were patching up, Mammootty asked them to come to Priyadarshan’s studio in Chennai where he was dubbing. He knows the actor closely as he has worked with Lissy in several films, which Priyan has directed. He told them he was happy to see them together again.”
Children and friendship
Family played a big role in bringing them back together. Their children – Kalyani Priyadarshan and Siddharth Priyadarshan – were the main reasons behind the reunion.The Mid Day source revealed that the decision was not sudden, “This decision was made six to eight months ago. The couple will not remarry. For them, it’s just a marriage certificate; friendship, companionship and love are more important.”Confirming the development with the same portal, Priyadarshan said, “Except for the marriage certificate, we live the same life together.”

Interestingly, this is not the first time such rumors have surfaced. In 2017, there was similar speculation about a possible reconciliation. At the time, Lissy strongly denied the reports in a specific Facebook post.He wrote, “There has been constant yellow speculation about the reasons why I filed for divorce and whether myself and Mr. Priyadarsan will ever get back together. The clear and straight answer to that is NO and NEVER. The reasons why I filed for divorce are very clear to my children (who have been very supportive), the Hon’ble court and Mr. Priyadarsan. These reasons are completely irreversible. Only I know what I went through and for what reason I endured it and I am not ready to discuss or disclose it.
