“Every morning, there is a message from him”
Speaking of their bond, Prem Chopra revealed that Amitabh Bachchan is one of his close friends on WhatsApp.“Ever since I got sick, every morning she gets a message from him: ‘Get well soon, Prem.’ “Prayers for you.” Maine bola usko, yaar main theek ho gaya (I said, my friend, I am cured). But it’s still going strong,” he shared with Hollywood Reporter India.
Health scare and recovery
Last year, Prem Chopra was admitted to Lilavati hospital after falling ill. Doctors diagnosed him with a viral infection, along with age-related complications, including severe aortic stenosis.After the treatment, his son-in-law, actor Sharman Joshi, shared an update on social media, revealing that the veteran underwent a successful TAVI procedure, replacing the valve without the need for open-heart surgery.He added that the procedure was smooth and without complications, and that Prem Chopra is back home and recovering well.
A long-standing screen association
