Planning to buy TVS Ronin? You might want to wait for that.

The TVS Ronin range may get a new twist soon, and if you’re planning to buy one, it might be worth holding on to for a while. TVS Motor Company has filed a design patent for a cafe racer version of the Ronin. While the company has yet to confirm a launch timeline, the filing of the design patent generally indicates an intention to explore production possibilities.

TVS Ronin Cafe Racer: What to expect.

While the standard Ronin has been around since 2022, interestingly, this isn’t the first time such a concept has come up. TVS had earlier showcased the cafe racer-styled Ronin at its MotoSoul event. Now with the patent officially filed, the idea seems to be getting closer to reality. From the design sketches, the biggest highlight is the front-end styling. The bike has a retro cafe racer fairing built around a circular headlamp, with a curved windscreen. The riding stance is expected to be more aggressive thanks to low-set clip-on handlebars and rear-seat footpegs.

Other changes we can see include a single-piece seat with an integrated rear cowl, as well as a shorter, higher-pitched exhaust. Under the skin, the mechanical setup is likely to remain unchanged. The Cafe Racer variant is expected to use the same 225.9cc single-cylinder engine that produces around 20 bhp and 20 Nm of torque. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch. Suspension duties are likely to be handled by USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear, with disc brakes at both ends.
