PCB unhappy after Naseem Shah PKR 20 million fine out of PSL

New Delhi: Looks like Pakistan’s star pacer… Naseem Shah And trouble is getting out of hand. First, he was heavily fined for his comments about a politician on social media – avoiding a ban – and now there are fresh concerns about his fitness that have ruled him out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).Apart from the attitude issues, his fitness woes are increasing, which does not sit well with the Pakistan Cricket Board.Naseem may face action from the Pakistan Cricket Board over both fitness concerns and conduct. He will undergo an extensive rehabilitation program under the supervision of a medical panel.He was fined what is believed to be the largest fine in the history of Pakistan cricket – PKR 20 million (about US$72,000) – after criticizing Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in a tweet.“Naseem suffered a side strain during Rawalpindi’s match against Karachi Kings on Thursday and missed the team’s final match, raising serious questions over his fitness,” sources told www.telecomasia.net.“Naseem’s rise has been hampered by his off-field behaviour, his excessive focus on advertisements and podcasts, which have derailed his career. He also missed the 2023 ODI World Cup due to fitness issues, which are a blot on his career,” Telecom Asia Sport quoted sources as saying.“Naseem will appear before a medical panel headed by Dr Javed Mughal in the next two days, as the selection committee is also not happy with his repeated fitness issues,” the source added.Naseem suffered an injury during Pakistan’s disappointing 2026 T20 World Cup campaign and was subsequently ruled out of the Bangladesh tour.He was also demoted to ‘C’ category in the Central Contract List last year.
