The much awaited trailer of ‘Patriot’ is finally out and from the looks of it, Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal have teamed up for a very intense spy thriller that Mollywood has never seen before. The Mahesh Narayanan-directed film is touted to be one of the biggest projects in Malayalam cinema and the trailer offers a wonderful insight into an action-packed and suspenseful undercover mission.

Mammootty is shown as a vlogger giving a talk about a software that has the unique ability to act as a surveillance and later appears as someone running, carrying sensitive information.Mammootty’s character is seen getting much needed support from Lalettan aka Mohanlal. The trailer features several action-packed moments with the two veterans. Mammootty and Mohanlal reunite on screen after 18 years and their chemistry on screen has already created a lot of interest among fans.
The plot and characters of ‘Patriot’
The story revolves around a retired JAG officer played by Mammootty. He is wrongly framed for espionage and takes on an undercover mission to clear his name and protect his nation – something a true Patriot must do.
Mohanlal’s character helps his old friend despite grave dangers. Nayanthara has an important role. He counsels a young woman in a tense scene.Revathy expresses concern about a civilian mission and Fahadh Faasil introduces a new software called Samaj Seva. Fahadh’s character seems to have a gray shade.

Interestingly, the trailer was released in two major theaters in Kochi and Thrissur. Mohanlal made a grand entrance at the trailer of ‘Patriot’ and Mammootty simultaneously launched the trailer at the Ragam Theater in Thrissur.Fans thronged the theaters from 4 pm onwards and in a video shared on Twitter, Mohanlal can be seen asking the audience whether to play the trailer one more time.
