Raghav and Parineeti opened up about how their love story started during their appearance on Aap Ki Adalat along with Rajat Sharma. Recalling their first meeting, Parineeti shared that she met Raghav in London at an award function. “I went there to accept the Outstanding Achievement Award in Entertainment, and he (Raghav) came to accept an award in Politics and Government,” he said. The actor admitted that he didn’t know Raghav at the time, though his brothers were big fans. “My brother Shivang told me to meet him. I told the organizers that I wanted to meet Raghav… I went to him. ‘Hi, I’m Parineeti, my brothers are big fans of yours’. He replied, ‘How sweet’,” she revealed. Parineeti added that Raghav had asked to meet her the next day – an unexpected gesture that totally surprised her.

Recalling the moment with a laugh, Parineeti recounted their first meeting as anything but a romantic date. “I agreed. The next morning, I went with my three supervisors. He also came with the organizers… It wasn’t a date. There was a whole platoon,” he said. Even with so many people around, the two managed to connect instantly, chatting about everything from meditation to scuba diving. The real “movie moment”, as described by Parineeti, unfolded over the food. “Suddenly, he said, he was hungry, he stood up and brought a plate full of food,” said Parineeti. “I thought, usually people remain shy when they meet for the first time… I said to myself, Yaar, this is the right man for me.” She added with a smile, “He brought his plate and started eating. I was watching. A bell rang in my head. I said to myself, I’m going to marry this man.”

As soon as the conversation ended, Parineeti immediately went to her room, getting curious. “I didn’t know anything about him,” he admitted. “I rushed up to my room and started Googling – Who is Raghav Chadha? Is Raghav Chadha married? I also asked the ‘main’ question – What is Raghav Chadha’s age?” After finding all the answers she was looking for, Parineeti couldn’t help but laugh at her realization. “And then I said to myself (in Punjabi) Byah Toh Main Inaali Karangi (I will marry only this man),” she said.

Raghav Chadha also gave his side of the story on Aap Ki Adalat. He recalled how, when he agreed to meet Parineeti, he decided to “hit a Mauke Pe Chauka (seize the opportunity)”. Parineeti returned to India in Punjab, Raghav was posted to make the film, meetings continued. “We met a lot and gradually the silsila (series) continued,” he said. The couple had to be very careful about their growing bond. Raghav shared that they often escape from their safety to meet gurudwaras quietly. “We met at 8.30 pm. He finished the shooting, told his security personnel to leave and came alone in the car,” recalls Raghav. The two would spend time together at a friend’s house in town, talking quietly away from the public eye.
