Board of Secondary Education Odisha (BSE Odisha) will start the registration process for Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2026 from 26 March 2026. Both in service and fresher candidates can apply online through official website bseodisha.ac.in.As per the official notification, the last date for submission of OTET 2026 application form is 9th April 2026, 11:45 PM. Candidates are advised to complete the registration process before the last date to avoid last minute problems.
OTET 2026 Exam Date And the timing
OTET 2026 exam will be conducted on 29th May 2026 in offline pen paper mode. The examination will be conducted in two shifts:
- Paper 1: 9:00 am to 11:30 am
- Paper 2: 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM
Candidates can choose to appear for Paper 1, Paper 2 or both based on their qualification and the classes they want to teach. Paper 1 is for class 1 to 5 while paper 2 is for class 6 to 8.OTET 2026 Admit Card will be released on 15th May 2026. After the application process closes, a correction window will also open, through which candidates can modify their form.
OTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
For Paper 1, candidates must have:
- Higher secondary qualifications
- DElEd, BElEd, or equivalent qualification
For Paper 2, candidates should have:
- Graduation degree
- B.Ed., DL.Ed., or equivalent qualification
There is no age limit for OTET 2026. However, candidates must be permanent residents of Odisha.
OTET 2026 Exam Pattern
OTET 2026 exam will consist of 150 objective type questions carrying 150 marks. The exam will include the following sections:
- Child Development and Pedagogy
- Language I
- Language II (English)
- Subject-specific sections
Subjects for Paper 1 include Mathematics and Environmental Science. And for Paper 2, candidates can choose between Mathematics, Science or Social Sciences.There will be no negative marking in the examination. Candidates must secure minimum 60% marks to qualify.
