‘Office Christmas Party’ star Olivia Munn is opening up about an awkward on-set experience with a male co-star. In a recent session, the actress revealed that a male actor once stopped filming for 45 minutes because he refused to be “saved by a woman” in a movie.
Olivia Munn recounts an awkward incident on set
During her appearance on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, the 45-year-old actress made a revelation. Without revealing the identity of the co-star, the actor recalled: “There are a few times when I’ve been shooting something, and my character was like the CIA, or the police, or something, and there were scenes where it was my character who saved the other character.” The scene in question featured Munn and her male co-star fighting side-by-side in a bunker.“If you read the script, she was taking care of her side, I was taking care of my side, then we switch sides and then a guy comes looking for her. [who] that he was going to shoot him in the back, I shot him,” he recalled. “And then we go to shoot and, somehow, I think he didn’t read the script, and at that moment he realized, ‘Wait, wait, wait. hold on He can’t save me. Well, no. He can’t save me’”.
Olivia Munn recalls going in to continue filming
Munn said her cast stopped production and became “combative with the director” at this point. He added that he “didn’t feel safe at all about being mean and everyone hearing this and saying, ‘He can’t save me! We’re not doing this.’ Then he remembered that after 45 minutes, he came in and said, “OK, how about my character instead of saving you, he said we’re changing, my boy is this and he’s this.” “And he said, ‘Okay.'”
The awkward encounter before Olivia Munn
It’s not the first time Munn has shared a bad experience on set with a male colleague. In an episode of Dax Shepherd’s ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast, he said a director who worked on ‘The Newsroom’ tried to “ruin his chances” of getting a role in the film by telling the studio he was “really a fighter” while filming.
