American rapper Offset was shot dead in Florida on Monday. The Migos rapper was shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida and taken to the hospital, where he is currently in stable condition, TMZ reports.The artist’s spokesperson confirmed the incident in a statement to Variety, “We can confirm that Offset was shot and is currently in the hospital receiving medical attention. He is stable and being closely monitored.“Details surrounding the shooting are limited at this time and the investigation into the case is ongoing. According to reports, authorities have not yet released any further details about the circumstances that led to the shooting or a list of possible suspects.Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, is a member of the hip-hop group Migos. He was previously married to Cardi B, with whom he has two children.The incident comes years after tragedy struck the group, when Migos member Takeoff was shot in November 2022.In October 2020, Offset was arrested by the Beverly Hills Police Department near a rally on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon, but was released shortly thereafter. Prior to that, the rapper also faced a felony charge in April 2019 for possession of three guns and possession of drugs.Offset has had numerous run-ins with law enforcement in recent years. He spent time in prison in 2013 and 2015 after previous drug and gun charges, according to Rolling Stone.
