NHPC Limited has invited online applications for the recruitment of Trainee Engineers (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) vide Advertisement No. NH/Rectt/02/2026. NHPC Vacancy Details
NHPC has announced a total of 72 vacancies in three engineering disciplines:
- Civil: 7 Posts
- Electrical: 26 Posts
- Mechanical: 21 Posts
In addition, 9 posts have been earmarked under a special recruitment drive for Benchmark Persons with Disabilities (PwBD).
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the posts of Trainee Engineer should possess full-time BE/B.Tech or B.Sc (Engineering) degree in relevant discipline from an AICTE approved institution with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).Upper age limit is 30 years as on last date of application, with applicable relaxations for reserved categories as per government norms.
GATE score is mandatory.
An important requirement for this recruitment is a valid GATE 2024 or GATE 2025 score in the relevant discipline. Candidates appearing in both the exams can submit their best score, which will be used for shortlisting. Final year students are not eligible to apply.
Selection process
The selection process will be based on:
- GATE Score (75% Weightage)
- Group Discussion (5%)
- Personal Interview (20%)
Candidates will be shortlisted for GD and Interview based on their normal GATE marks. The NHPC may also conduct a psychological assessment, the results of which will be considered during the interview stage.To qualify, candidates must secure a minimum combined score in GD and Interview—40% for OBC (NCL) and 30% for SC/ST/PwBD categories.
