‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has already become one of the biggest hits of recent times. Manav GohilBansal, who played IB deputy director in ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, spoke about the film’s unusually long running time. The two installments of the franchise are among the longest-running Bollywood films of recent years; the second part lasts almost four hours. In a recent interview, the actor explained that director Aditya Dhar he was very thorough in keeping all the researched information, even though he made a long film.
Manav Gohil on Aditya Dhar’s sharp approach
In an interview with News 18, Manav Gohil said that Aditya Dhar refused to commit to the details. He shared, “There is so much information in the film. Aditya was very strict not to omit any detail. What we had in hand was hard research-based information. He said, “Yeh sab dikhaana zaroori hai. He made no compromises. He was so attuned to the smallest parts of the story telling.” And people loved it all.” The actor admitted that they felt the team had shot a lot, but Aditya was adamant about keeping it all.
Manav Gohil had no prior knowledge of the sequel
In the same interaction, Gohil revealed that he was not told about a second part until later. He said, “We all felt ki humne bahot zyada shoot kar liya hai. Hum shoot kiye hi ja rahe the, kiye hi ja rahe the (laughs). We knew it was going to be a long film but we didn’t anticipate that it would be split into two parts. We came to know about it, when we were about to release the first film, and we got to know that when they were going to release the first official film and they gave us the sense of Dhar. Revenge will also release.” Gohil revealed that he only got to know about the sequel when the first film was about to release.
Family reaction to ‘Dhurandhar’
Manav Gohil also revealed how his family, especially his wife and actress Shweta Kawatra, reacted to ‘Dhurandhar’. Gohil said, “It was so difficult to see him with Shweta. He had so many questions to ask. I had to tell him to let me watch the movie first so I could understand and answer all his questions.” He joked that after the movie was released, it suddenly became “important” to his family, and everyone would ask him about the story at dinner parties.

The actor also addressed a common fan complaint about limited screen time. He laughed and said, “Mujhe bhi aisa hi laga ki mera screen time kam kyun hai (laughs). And even though people reacted very sweetly to my scenes and told me they loved my performance, they asked me, aur bhi hai kya?” (“I felt the same way, why is my screen time so less? (laughs). And even though people reacted very sweetly to my scenes and said they loved my performance, they kept asking, ‘Is there more?'”Despite his brief role, his performance as IB Deputy Director Bansal was appreciated by the audience.
