Pradeep Ranganathan’s sci-fi comedy ‘LIK: Love Insurance Kompany’ has been hit by online piracy soon after its release, mirroring the recent leak of ‘Jana Nayagan’. Despite the setback, ‘LIK’ has managed decent numbers at the box office, collecting ₹14.75 crore in India. Set in 2040, the film explores the clash between organic love and technology.

Piracy strikes again after the ‘Jana Nayagan’ theme

As reported by Filmi Beat, the HD print of the film was uploaded on various illegal platforms soon after its release. “LIK: Love Insurance Kompany” collected 7.70 crore nett on Day 2, a growth of 9.2 percent from Day 1’s 7.05 crore. The film maintained a decent occupancy of 35.4 percent on Saturday as reported by website Sacnilk.So far, the net collection in India is 14.75 crores, while the worldwide gross has reached 22.38 crores.

Industry reactions to ‘Jana Nayagan’ spill

Rajinikanth called the spill of “Jana Nayagan” a “stone and pain” moment for the industry. He asked the film associations to raise their voice and the government to punish those responsible.Chiranjeevi also expressed his concern and wrote, “The unfortunate leak of #Jananayagan is what worries me deeply.
