Lalit Pandit’s relationship with Asha Bhosle dates back to his childhood days. He recalled, “We have a very old relationship with the Mangeshkar family. Hridaynathji told me that he used to learn music from his father. And Asha ji used to say that my siblings and I all used to come to his house. And I have sung songs with Asha ji in my childhood films like ‘Parichay’ and ‘Apna Desh’. Lalit Pandit’s last call to Asha Bhosle

“I called him a few weeks ago. I knew he was not well. He picked up the phone, and it was a very long conversation,” said Lalit Pandit, recalling his last call with Asha Bhosle.“I told him, I want to meet you; you are not well. It’s been a year since I met him. The last time I saw him was at Shanmukhananda Hall, and he performed there. We didn’t meet again after that,” he added.

Lalit Pandit says Asha Bhosle was like family

Later in the interview, he shared, “We used to sing Asha ji’s songs at every function. She was our family. And the happiest thing for us is that she used to come to the music room to rehearse all the songs. We used to have the whole day free for rehearsals because she would sit and chat; she was such a lively lady. She was such a young lady.”“Asha ji is gone. I hope Asha ji’s blessings are always on us. And on our family. And the love and guidance I received from her. I will be indebted to her for the rest of my life,” he concluded.
