KTM has announced an extended warranty program for its road legal motorcycles. Beginning with the 2025 model year, all street-legal KTM motorcycles sold in global markets will now come with a 4-year standard warranty, doubling the coverage period previously offered on most models. The new warranty policy applies to all KTM road-going motorcycles irrespective of engine capacity. This means bikes from several segments including Adventure, Dual Sport, Naked, Super Sport, Sports Tourer and Supermoto will be included under the updated program. However, KTM has clarified that this policy will not apply only to track machines and off-road dirt bikes, which are excluded from this warranty scheme.Earlier, most road legal KTM motorcycles came with a standard warranty of 2 years. With the new announcement, the company has effectively doubled the coverage period to four years for models manufactured after MY2025. The program also includes motorcycles manufactured in different parts of the world, including sub-400cc single-cylinder bikes manufactured by Bajaj Auto as well as larger multi-cylinder models manufactured at KTM’s global facilities.
KTM’s portfolio spans a wide range of motorcycles, with engine capacities ranging from 125cc to 1,350cc in single and twin-cylinder configurations. Under the new policy, all road models within the lineup will be eligible for extended coverage once they are manufactured as MY2025 motorcycles.
Does this extended warranty affect Indian buyers?
It is important to note that the new 4-year standard warranty has been introduced for overseas markets. In India, KTM motorcycles already come with a standard warranty of 5 years, which can be optionally extended to 10 years, depending on the coverage plan chosen by the customer. In the Indian market, KTM is known for its performance-oriented naked and sport motorcycles. Popular models include KTM Duke 200, KTM Duke 390 and KTM RC 200. The brand also offers other options like the KTM Duke 250 and the adventure-focused KTM 390 Adventure.
