‘Unda’ and ‘Kannur Squad’
‘Unda’ is a realistic drama in which Mammootty leads a small Kerala police force managing elections in a resource-poor Maoist-affected area. The film balances humor and tension beautifully. ‘Kalamkaval’
Now comes one of the superstar’s boldest attempts yet as he plays a living serial killer who preys on women. Mammootty is seen in a dual role of a ruthless serial killer and an investigator.The slow-paced narrative and his intense acting have garnered him high praise. ETimes’ review of the film reads: “Mammootty’s star power is a must and the ‘massive’ dialogues are good, but the rest of the cast, Rony, Azeez Nedumangad, Shabareesh Varma, also have backstories that lend some weight to their characters. Ankith Madhav does a commendable job as a constable from UP who becomes part of the team and guides them through the rough and unknown parts of northern India.
