Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee has opened the registration window for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026 for Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO (F) candidates from April 6, 2026. The early registration window, especially for foreign nationals and OCI/PIO (F) candidates, will remain active till May 2, 2026. Candidates who have qualified for JEE Mains will be able to apply between 4th April to 2nd May. The last date for payment of fees in all categories is 4th May 2026. According to the official information bulletin, candidates who are not Indian citizens, whether by birth or naturalization, fall under the foreign national category. These candidates stay for exceptional seats which are not limited to more than 10% of the total intake per stream. It is important to note that these seats are outside the ambit of reservation criteria as prescribed by the Constitution of India and therefore include GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD.The lack of any subdivision of this pool, particularly gender-based quotas, further emphasizes the individualism and meritocratic orientation of this entry route.As far as OCI/PIO candidates are concerned, the category is determined by a critical date point – all those who have received their cards before 4 March 2021 have the option to either be classified as foreigners or be considered with Indian applicants.
