Janhvi Kapoor He has slammed the excessive paparazzi behavior and shared that he recently met them individually to discuss it. He confronted them about the sometimes inappropriate ways in which the actress was photographed. Acknowledging that clicking is inherent to the profession, he stressed that zooming in on body parts or removing unauthorized angles crosses boundaries and causes discomfort. Even going out in an outfit of your choice, he pointed out, does not imply consent to such control.
Janhvi Kapoor on paparazzi invasion
Talking to Raj Shamani, Janhvi said, “Actually, a couple of days ago I had a conversation with the paparazzi. I met them privately and I was talking about how they sometimes photograph women. And I said ye humare liye to bura hai hi. Humein achha nahi lagta hai. It is invasive and we believe it is not consensual. Even if we dress up and come out in a certain way. We do not anticipate that this camera will be able to zoom in on the area. But more than us, it reflects badly on you. You all are commodifying a woman’s body against her will. How do you respect yourself? For money, for looks, are you all enlarging a body part? And they seemed quite receptive and aware.’
Janhvi Kapoor emphasizes conformity
The actor emphasized that consent is essential. “I think it’s important at every stage to ask yourself, ‘What did I accept?’ So, for example, I did a song called ‘Bheegi saree’ where I’m in a wet saree and I’m dancing quite sexually. The idea of it was – I wouldn’t say arousal – but it was a sensual song.” He clarified that it was a deliberate and agreed choice. That said, he strongly opposes any non-consensual sexualization. “But that’s very different, especially sexualizing someone without their consent. I’m not okay with all of that, and that bothers me,” Janhvi said.“I have the freedom to wear whatever I want to wear when I’m out and about. But there are angles, there are ways to intercept and circulate without my knowledge or consent. And they play some music, some slow motion and some zooms. That’s not my consent.” Even on film sets, if a DOP puts a camera in a place where I’m not comfortable, I could say ‘ye nahi chalega’ without being unprofessional,” he said.

On the work front, he teams up with Janhvi Kapoor Ram Charan For the movie ‘Peddi’ written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana.
