the actor Janhvi Kapoor recently tackled the serious issue of alcohol addiction while supporting an initiative aimed at changing how society perceives and discusses it. At the launch of her latest initiative for alcohol addiction awareness, Janhvi spoke about stigma and silence for a more informed and compassionate understanding. He also talked about what is related to mental health and what it takes to get rid of this addiction. Janhvi said that as alcohol consumption becomes more normalized in social settings, there remains a lack of clarity when casual drinking becomes a clinical problem. Speaking at the launch of the ‘Off The Rocks’ initiative, he said: ‘The conversation around alcohol is either completely non-existent or deeply judgmental, neither of which works for people who need help. Alcohol addiction is real, it’s clinical, and it affects people in all walks of life. The initiative is to make it easier to recognize that and know that there is help.” He also emphasized that addiction is often wrongly seen as a moral weakness, rather than mental health that requires proper treatment and intervention.
