The manager said that she had left her bag at a shop at the Mumbai airport and was unable to access it after leaving the premises. He said the Mumbai Police got involved to help recover him. The update came from Ali’s Instagram Stories and quickly garnered attention, not only for the mishap, but for his public praise of the police officer who helped him.

According to News18, Imtiaz Ali took to Instagram Stories to thank the Mumbai Police after they helped him retrieve his bag left behind at the airport. Sharing the incident in her own words, she wrote, “I forgot my bag at an indoor shop and walked out of the airport and into a fix!! I couldn’t get back!! But @mumbaipolice was there to help. Mr. Nazim Pathan went out of his way for me. Thank you Mr. Jao Hind! (sic)” The message emphasized how quickly the situation was resolved when the authorities got involved.The episode was highlighted because the issue could easily have turned into a longer delay. Instead, Ali’s note called for immediate help. His message also focused directly on the officer he nominated, Mr. Nazim Pathan, for helping to address the issue after he left the airport and was unable to re-enter.
