Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has opened applications for its Master of Science (MS) in Entrepreneurship program for the July 2026 session and registration is currently underway. The program is offered by the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE) at IIT Madras. Interested candidates can apply through the official portal before 30 March 2026.
The program focuses on construction. Deep tech startups
The MS Deep in Entrepreneurship program focuses on building tech startups. Unlike traditional research degrees, this program aims to help students translate research ideas into market-ready projects. Candidates will work on real project areas under the guidance of faculty members at IIT Madras.Currently 43 scholars are part of this program. More than five participants have already added their startups. The program offers 29 project areas for July 2026 intake.

- Healthcare and Biomedical
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Robotics and Smart Systems
- Advanced manufacturing
- Durability
- Educational Technology (EdTech)

Each selected candidate will work with faculty founders at IIT Madras.
Incubation and funding support
Students will receive support for intellectual property development. The program also includes pre-incubation support at Nirman and funding opportunities through the IIT Madras Incubation Cell. The initiative aims to help candidates transition from lab research to startup creation.
