SRFP 2026: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has announced Summer Research Fellowship Program 2026, inviting applications from undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students across India. The program enables selected candidates to undertake research and development projects under the supervision of IIT Delhi faculty.Students from engineering institutes other than IIT Delhi, who are among the top ten in their respective programs or branches, are eligible to apply. Online application process is currently open, submissions will be accepted till 3rd April 2026.Structure and Duration of FellowshipThe fellowship will be held over a period of eight weeks during the Institute’s holiday schedule. The program will run from May 13, 2026 to July 13, 2026, allowing participants to engage in full-time research activities on campus.Selected students will be registered as visiting students at IIT Delhi for the duration of the fellowship. They will not need to pay any registration fee to the institution.Financial assistance and facilitiesThe fellowship includes financial and logistical support for participants. Travel expenses within India will be covered in the form of sleeper class train fare to and from IIT Delhi.Accommodation will be provided in institute hostels, including boarding and lodging facilities during the stay. Apart from this, each selected candidate will get a weekly stipend of Rs. 2000Participants are required to arrange insurance coverage for the duration of their stay. The insurance should include accident and accidental death provisions, and the cost will be borne by the student.Eligibility Criteria and Application ProcessUndergraduate applicants must have completed at least two years of study in an engineering degree program and must be among the top ten performers in their respective fields. Postgraduate applicants pursuing M.Tech or ME must complete at least one semester, secure at least 70 percent marks or a CGPA of 7.00 on a ten-point scale, and be among the top ten.Applicants need to submit an online form with a photograph, composite grade card, rank certificate, and no objection certificate from their parent institution. Original documents must be submitted at the time of joining if selected.The list of selected candidates is expected to be released by the first week of May 2026.
